Adeyemi A. Omidiji is a seasoned administrator, prolific researcher and outstanding human resource manager whose experiences in road transportation and safety management transcends Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), an Organization he has worked with for over 25years.
Born about 59years ago in Ibadan, Oyo State, South-West, Nigeria, he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography and Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning between 1979 – 1982 and 1984 – 1987 respectively from the University of lbadan. He obtained his award of Doctorate Degree at the University of Nigeria, Nsuka, South-East Nigeria.
Adeyemi Omidiji commenced his public service career as Field Supervisor at the Centre for Urban and Regional Planning and NISER on Otta-Ifo Road Master Plan, working visitation to Holland. He joined FRSC as a pioneer staff on the 10th of May, 1988 and has served in various capacities at the top management level in the Corps, including as Director and Head of Department, Planning, Research and Statistics from 1990 to 1995 and 2000 to 2002 respectively; Corps Planning Officer from 2008 to 2010, Zonal Commanding Officer at various times at Ilorin, Owerri, Sokoto, Benin, Lagos and Abuja. Until his retirement on the 13th of November, 2014, he was the Deputy Corps Marshal and Head of Training, Standards and Certification Department.
Adeyemi Omidiji, has undertaken several courses on road transportation and safety, leadership and corporate administration and management. He is a member of several professional bodies including Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Member, Institute of Accident Investigation, UK, Member, Institute of Risk and
Safety Management, UK; Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistic and Transport, UK, Member, National Geographic Society, U. S.A, Member, Planning and Transport Research and Computation, UK; Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals, Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals, Member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners. He has several research publications in local and international journals to his credit. In 2002, Adeyemi Omidiji won the prestigious Africa International Achievers Award for his outstanding contributions to the well being of humanity He is married and have children, he lives in Abuja, Nigeria.
